Dr. Niranjan Janardhanan

Biography

Niranjan Janardhanan is an Assistant Professor in Management with a focus on organizational behavior. He earned his PhD in Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018. His research interests include employees' construction of identities and how these are expressed within teams and organizations. He studies the effects of divergent individual experiences on team performance and has published his findings in renowned journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and Organization Science. His current research focuses on how employees manage multiple work identities, particularly in times of uncertainty and crisis. Furthermore, he aims to understand how individuals reconcile diverse experiences to achieve coordination within teams. In addition to his academic work, he has served as a reviewer for various peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including the Academy of Management. Before pursuing his PhD, he completed a Bachelor's and Master's in Electrical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, and an MBA in Strategy & Leadership at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India. He has several years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, financial services, and consulting roles across Asia and Europe.
