Dr. Norma Rantisi

Biography

Norma Rantisi is a Professor in the Department of Geography, Planning, and Environment at Concordia University. She holds a PhD from the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include political economy, labor market intermediaries, workforce development, artisanal cooperatives, social and solidarity economy, and economic restructuring. Over the years, she has extensively studied women's artisanal cooperatives in Palestine and has collaborated with various scholars, including Dr. Deborah Leslie. Rantisi has co-edited several influential books and published numerous articles in academic journals, contributing significantly to the fields of economic urban geography and cultural economy. She supervises graduate students in economic geography and is involved in various professional associations such as the Planners Network International and the American Association of Geographers. Rantisi is also on the editorial board of several academic publications, underscoring her prominent role in the academic community.
