Dr. Okan Bulut

Biography

Okan Bulut is a Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta, specializing in measurement, evaluation, and data science. He has an extensive background in educational psychology and quantitative methods, holding a PhD from the University of Minnesota. Bulut's research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence, educational data mining, and learning analytics, striving to empower learners by harnessing the transformative power of data. He develops intelligent systems that adapt to learner preferences and styles and conducts regular workshops on data mining and statistical analysis using R, SAS, and Python. His scholarly work has been published in leading journals such as Educational Psychological Measurement, Review of Educational Research, and Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence. Bulut has also made significant contributions to educational measurement literature, including co-authoring the book 'Handbook of Educational Measurement and Psychometrics Using R'. He teaches various courses including machine learning and educational assessment, and continues to engage in research that aims to enhance learning experiences through innovative measurement techniques.
