Biography

Olympia Colizoli is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University, specifically within the Donders Centre for Cognition and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour. Her research focuses on understanding how the human brain constructs unique subjective experiences, referred to as qualia, in response to the external world. By combining neuroimaging techniques with computational modeling and innovative learning paradigms, she investigates the interactive processes between external stimuli and internal cognitive states. This work seeks to unravel how the brain actively shapes perception and considers the underlying variables that contribute to individual differences in subjective experience. Research themes also explore the interplay between social neuroscience and artificial intelligence, enhancing our understanding of learning, memory, perception, and phenomena such as synesthesia and neuromodulation.
