Dr. Pamela High

Biography

Pamela High, MS, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics and a Clinician Educator at Brown Medical School, where she leads the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and directs the fellowship program in the same area. She has had a distinguished career in pediatric medical education since 1979 and was the first female Pediatric Chief Resident at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. High has held several leadership roles, including recent Past President of the Society for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and Past Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Early Childhood, Adoption, and Dependent Care. She also holds an appointment on the DBP SubBoard of the American Board of Pediatrics. Her clinical and research interests focus on infant behavioral issues, including colic, sleep, and feeding problems, the impact of these conditions on families, as well as the promotion of anticipatory guidance and literacy in primary care settings. Dr. High has been actively involved in local advocacy, serving on boards such as RI Reach and the Early Learning Council, and continues to contribute to the field through her various roles and research networks.
