Biography

Patricia Gándara is a Professor Emerita at the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies. She is a bilingual school psychologist and social scientist with extensive experience in education research. At the RAND Corporation, she directed education research and has served as a Commissioner for Post-secondary Education for the State of California. Gándara has been involved with the Linguistic Minority Research Institute and is currently co-directing the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles at UCLA.
