Biography

Paul Reilly is a Senior Lecturer in Communications, Media and Democracy at the University of Glasgow, appointed in June 2022. He leads on ethical research in the College of Social Sciences and is a member of the Glasgow University Media Group. Prior to joining Glasgow, he worked at the University of Sheffield from 2015 to 2022 and at the University of Leicester from 2009 to 2015, where he also served in various leadership roles. Reilly's research interests focus on digital activism, media conflict transformation in divided societies, and the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) for peacebuilding. He has published extensively in notable journals, received numerous awards for his teaching, and led several funded research projects including studies on YouTube during union flag protests in Northern Ireland. Reilly actively supervises PhD students and has been involved in various editorial and advisory roles throughout his career.
