Dr. Peggy Odom Reed

Biography

Peggy Odom-Reed is a Senior Lecturer in the Management Communication area at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, part of the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. She teaches courses in management communication and has developed a sustained creative academic-industry partnership to help hospitality business leaders deliver business ethics projects aligned with the guiding principles of ethics, integrity, agility, and community connectedness outlined by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Odom-Reed has created the eCornell course, LSM 704 Persuasive Writing, aimed at supporting executive education. With 17 years of service to Cornell University, she possesses significant corporate experience as a senior staffing representative at 3M Company, bringing strategic knowledge in human resources. Odom-Reed holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since 2017 and offers leadership communication coaching at Cornell. Her interdisciplinary educational background combines psychology and organizational communication theories, with a PhD and MS in organizational communication from Cornell University and a BA in psychology from the University of West Florida. Her research areas include social networks, leadership, teams, and collaborative work environments.
