Peter obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Sydney in 1986. He has a formal background in theoretical chemistry, focusing on chemical kinetics and quantum dynamics. His research interests include simulation and modeling using numerical methods, particularly in areas such as matrix orthogonalization techniques and numerical integration of stiff systems of differential equations. He has extensive experience with sparse matrix techniques for numerical integration. As a Professor Emeritus in the Teaching Stream at the Lassonde School of Engineering, Peter has also worked on computer-aided instruction and the development of multimedia course materials, including interactive simulations delivered over the Internet.
