Biography

Peter H. Lehner is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School and directs Earthjustice's Sustainable Food & Farming Program, where he develops strategies to promote environmentally sound agricultural systems that reduce health, environmental, and climate harms associated with food production. With a background as an executive director at the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund, Lehner has played a pivotal role in starting new programs for clean food and expanding political action efforts. His expertise includes addressing the impacts of agriculture on climate change, as evidenced by his authorship of 'Farming Future: Science, Law, Policy for Climate-Neutral Agriculture'. He has directed NRDC’s clean water program and established an environmental prosecution unit at the New York City Law Department.
