Biography

Peter Vietgen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at Brock University. He holds a PhD in Art Education from Concordia University in Montreal and has been with Brock University since 2004. Before joining the university, he served as a Visual Arts Consultant and Curriculum Advisor with the Toronto District School Board. Peter is currently the President of the Canadian Society for Education through Art (CSEA), a national association dedicated to enhancing art education across Canada. His recent work includes overseeing community art projects that engage local students in creative initiatives tied to significant events such as the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. Through collaborative workshops and exhibitions, Peter fosters artistic expression among students from various backgrounds, emphasizing themes of teamwork and cultural representation in art.
