Dr. Peter Wolsing

Biography

Peter Wolsing is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark specializing in history and philosophy. His research interests primarily focus on Classical German Philosophy, with a particular emphasis on figures such as Kant and Hegel. Wolsing adopts an interpretative approach to classical works, exploring contemporary themes in philosophy that resonate with urgent societal concerns, including environmental ethics and the intersection of education and philosophy. He engages critically with various philosophical ideas including phenomenology and existentialism, and he has a keen interest in the philosophy of nature and ethics. In his teaching role, he educates students on the philosophical traditions of ancient Greece, twentieth century German philosophy, and the methodologies applicable to these areas. His current research delves into environmental ethics and aesthetics, particularly linking these domains with post-Kantian philosophy and the overarching theme of education (Bildung).
