Biography

Preeti is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Education Policy at the School of Education, University of Glasgow. She holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Adult Education and Urban Studies from the same institution. In her role, Preeti serves as the Deputy Director for Post Graduate Researchers within the School. Her research interests center on skills development, sustainable livelihoods, social inclusion for marginalized populations in the Global South, and education policy. Notably, she is a co-investigator on the study ‘Decolonising Higher Education’, which examines a master’s programme through a postcolonial lens. Preeti has also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on an ESRC-funded international project focusing on Gendered Journeys of STEM students in Higher Education and Employment across India, Rwanda, and the UK. She contributed to the multidisciplinary GCRF project, Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods, in collaboration with various departments across seven countries in Africa and Asia. Her doctoral research investigated the complex interactions between international and national refugee education policies and the lived realities of five distinct refugee communities: Afghan, Rohingya, Somali, Chin, and Tibetan. Preeti's previous experience includes working with indigenous groups in India and collaborating with international organizations such as UNIDO and UNESCO.
