Dr. Rachel Arnett

Biography

Rachel Arnett is an Assistant Professor in the Management Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Organizational Behavior. Her research focuses on diversity, identity, inclusion, intergroup relations, and intersectionality. Rachel investigates the pathways through which diversity, equity, and inclusion can be developed within workplace settings. She analyzes how individuals navigate identity-based differences and the implications for social change, bias confrontation, and allyship behaviors. By employing laboratory experiments, surveys, and qualitative data, she explores the role of psychological safety in advancing DEI initiatives. Rachel's interdisciplinary educational background includes a doctoral degree from Harvard University, where she specialized in Organizational Behavior through the collaboration of Harvard Business School and Harvard's Social Psychology department. She has also worked extensively as a Research Assistant in social psychology at New York University and has experience in the advertising industry as a Senior Brand Strategist. Rachel has won multiple awards for her teaching and research contributions, including recognition by Poets & Quants as one of the 40-Under-40 MBA Professors. She currently teaches courses related to negotiation and mentored research.
