Dr. Rahul Jain

Biography

Rahul Jain is a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California. He holds the Kenneth C. Dahlberg Early Career Chair. Dr. Jain's research primarily focuses on Artificial Intelligence, particularly Stochastic Systems, Online Learning, and Statistical Reinforcement Learning. His work has significant applications in Intelligent Transportation, Autonomous Robotics, Smart Power Systems, and Digital Health. Since joining USC in February 2013, he has contributed to various academic and industry initiatives, receiving numerous accolades for his work, including the ONR Young Investigator Award and the NSF CAREER Award. Prior to his tenure at USC, he was associated with the Mathematical Sciences Division at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He is an Associate Editor for several prestigious journals, including the IEEE Transactions, and has served on editorial boards and conference committees, significantly impacting the fields of Control Systems and Game Theory. He is an active member of professional societies such as IEEE and ACM, with a commitment to mentoring students who have gone on to receive prestigious awards in academia.
