Dr. Rakesh Khurana

Biography

Rakesh Khurana is a Professor of Sociology and the Marvin Bower Professor of Leadership Development at Harvard Business School. He is also a Master of Cabot House at Harvard College. Khurana has a distinguished academic career, teaching doctoral seminars in Management Markets and MBA courses in corporate governance and leadership. His educational background includes a B.S. from Cornell University and both an A.M. and Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University. Prior to his academic career, he was a founding member of Cambridge Technology Partners in Sales and Marketing. His research interests are primarily focused on corporate governance, accountability, social responsibility, labor markets, leadership, and organizational behavior. Currently, Khurana's research examines global leadership culture and the systems that support transnational networks of institutional leadership. He also engages with geographic areas in Europe and North America, contributing significantly to the field of economic sociology and organizations.
