Biography

Rebecca Kosick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University of Bristol. Her research focuses on interart relations primarily in 20th and 21st-century poetry, with particular interests in material poetics, modern contemporary print history, multilingualism, translation, and the politics of form. Kosick is the co-director of the Bristol Poetry Institute, which explores poetry’s connections to extrapoetic modes of inquiry and practice. Her recent publications include a critical edition and translation of Hélio Oiticica’s Secret Poetics and a monograph titled Material Poetics in Hemispheric America: Words and Objects 1950-2010. Her ongoing projects engage with contemporary art and poetic practices that address the complexities of communication beyond verbal language. Kosick is also known for her collaborative initiatives within the Bristol community.
