Biography

Rebecca Stenn is an acclaimed dancer, choreographer, educator, and author. She founded the Rebecca Stenn Company in 1996, which has worked in various forms of performance including opera, film, and new media, collaborating with composers, musicians, and visual artists. Her work has been widely presented in theaters and festivals both nationally and internationally, touring 50 cities in the U.S. and abroad, creating over 30 commissioned works. Stenn has received numerous awards, honors, and grants from organizations such as the National Endowment for the Arts and the Joyce Theater Foundation. Her recent performances include a return to the Edinburgh Festival, the Joyce Theater Family Series, and the premiere of a new duet at BAM Fisher. Stenn was a principal dancer with MOMIX from 1989 to 1996, showcasing her talents across 30 countries. Additionally, she has been a founding member of Pilobolus and has contributed to various performances and projects, including creating a new multi-media opera, Cracked Orlando, at the Juilliard School. Stenn teaches choreography and dance pedagogy at Princeton University and serves as a Faculty Fellow in Dance for the Trenton Arts program.
