Biography

Regan Kania helps undergraduate students select and plan the courses needed to complete their academic program in Sociology, including options for Study Abroad, Study Away, and Career Exploration Internships. He serves as an instructor for the SOC 498 Internship course. In addition to his work in the Sociology Department, Mr. Kania serves as an Academic Advisor to students at the Center for Integrative Studies in Social Science. In 2003, Mr. Kania was awarded the Advising/Professional Mentoring Award by the College of Human Ecology and was part of a team of advisors selected for the Certificate of Merit by the National Academic Advising Association. Outside of his advising duties on campus, Mr. Kania has served as an elected Board member of the Michigan Academic Advising Association. In his free time, Mr. Kania works as a Certified Umpire for the United States Tennis Association and enjoys coaching and playing the game, as well as spending time with his family.
