Prior to becoming an academic, Rene Wiedner worked in human resources consulting and investor relations consulting in information services. Theoretically, Rene draws mainly from sociology, with strong interests in continental philosophy and social psychology. Methodologically, he predominantly conducts case studies utilizing archival data, interviews, and non-participant observation. He currently serves as the Research Environment Lead and is a representative of the doctoral program in the Organisation Work group at Warwick Business School, while also being a member of the Academy of Management Journal's editorial review board.
