Biography

Renee Gordon has been actively teaching undergraduate nursing students since 2014 and holds the position of Teaching Professor at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in the Moncton site. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes supporting learners in achieving praxis and becoming autonomous critical thinkers, with a focus on innovation to address complex educational needs. Prior to her current role, she served as a term Instructor at UNB’s Saint John campus and has received early tenure following a probationary review in 2020. Her primary research interests lie in teaching and learning innovation, as well as metabolic health, specifically low carbohydrate intermittent fasting interventions for individuals with type 2 diabetes. She is currently a PhD student in Nursing at Queen’s University and has been awarded several distinctions for her contributions to nursing education and scholarship, including multiple Nursing Awards from the Canadian Nurses Foundation, the Teaching Innovation Award from UNB, and other academic scholarships. Gordon has also served on several committees within UNB, contributing to curriculum development and technology services.
