Dr. Rex Bentley

Biography

Rex Colle Bentley is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Duke University, where he is also a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. His research focuses on outcome-based pathology, specifically regarding endometrial carcinoma, examining the prognostic significance of histologic features and the various variants of the condition. He conducts collaborative studies on oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes related to endometrial cancer, and he has a significant interest in the molecular and genetic alterations in neoplasms, including ovarian pathology. Bentley is dedicated to improving radiographic screening for breast cancer through detailed patho-radiographic correlation and studies involving advanced imaging techniques, particularly ultrasound. His expertise also includes using electron microscopy as a diagnostic research tool. Bentley has held various positions during his extensive career, from Resident to Chief Resident in Pathology at Duke University and he holds an M.D. from Harvard University. His academic contributions are supported by numerous grants, focusing on novel research related to rhabdomyosarcoma and lung cancer.
