Biography

Richard M. Ingersoll is a Professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been a faculty member since 2000. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. Ingersoll's research focuses on various critical issues in education including the dynamics of teacher supply, demand, and turnover, as well as the preparation and induction of new teachers.
