Richard Mann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. His research encompasses various domains including Computational Vision, focusing on high-level vision, motion understanding, and event recognition. He also delves into Computational Hearing, dealing with acoustics, speech, music, and signal processing. Another key area of his expertise is in Perception and Learning within the realm of Artificial Intelligence. Mann has a keen collaborative spirit, working on projects such as the Open-Source Electroacoustic Measurement System, alongside John Vanderkooy, which highlights the practicalities and theory behind electroacoustic measurement.
