Biography

Richard E. Tremblay holds a bachelor's degree in physical education, a master's in psychoeducation, and a doctorate in psychology from the University of London. He is currently a professor of Psychology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry and the director of the Research Group on Child Psychosocial Maladaptation at the University of Montreal. Tremblay also holds a Canada Research Chair in Child Development, and is the director of the national longitudinal study on children and youth. He oversees the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development which focuses on gathering, analyzing, and disseminating relevant knowledge for the development and well-being of young children. Since 1982, he has been carrying out longitudinal and experimental research on physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development from conception through adulthood, particularly examining the origins of behavioral problems and the effectiveness of intervention programs to prevent these issues.
