Rick Rowley leads a diverse musical life, performing with some of the world’s finest instrumentalists and singers in solo, concerto, and collaborative performances across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. He has made numerous recordings of solo piano repertoire, chamber music, and art songs, including collaborations with flutist Marianne Gedigian. Rowley’s recordings feature works by classical composers such as Chopin, Liszt, Granados, and American composers like David Guion, Richard Cumming, Aaron Copland, and Samuel Barber. In addition, he has begun making video performances as part of a concert series in partnership with Professor Darlene Wiley from the Butler School of Music. Rowley also coaches singers and collaborates with pianists, teaching classes on German, French, and American art song, as well as musical theater. He has extensive experience in theater, having worked on over 50 productions as an actor, director, and musical director. Notably, he has performed as a concerto soloist with the Austin Symphony and has participated in innovative concert presentations. Rowley has also written incidental music for children’s theater productions and has hands-on experience with piano rebuilding from his time working in a piano shop.
