Biography

Robert (Bob) Thomas joined Georgia Tech in January 2006 to develop curriculum and create programming at the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship. He is currently a Professor of Practice and teaches courses in servant leadership, social entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial finance at the Scheller College of Business. Thomas is an active servant leader in the community and serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. Before joining Georgia Tech, he held teaching and administrative positions at LaGrange College, the University of Georgia, and the University of North Georgia, where he was engaged in developing programs for leadership in international education institutions. Thomas spent twelve years in his family business before shifting to the financial sector in 1983, where he held senior-level positions in banking and investment banking. He has been actively involved with foundations, universities, and nongovernmental organizations in Eastern and Central Europe from 1990 to 2002, and has served on numerous nonprofit boards.
