Biography

Rola Koubeissy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal in the Faculty of Education, specifically in the Department of Psychopedagogy and Andragogy. Her research focuses on four main axes related to the professional development of teachers and the educational success of students. The first axis examines teachers' perceptions and practices within inclusive and diverse classrooms. The second explores the learning processes and social experiences of students, particularly those from immigrant and refugee backgrounds. The third axis addresses the various issues tied to diversity and inclusion and their impact on teachers' practices and students' socio-educational experiences. The fourth focuses on teaching and learning processes in crisis situations. Her work advocates for critical approaches that highlight teachers as active participants in developing inclusive practices, while also amplifying student voices in constructing their own socio-educational experiences.
