Biography

Rosemary Grady is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Educational Leadership and Learning at the University of Edinburgh's Moray House School of Education and Sport. With a wealth of experience in educational leadership, she has held several key positions including Assistant Headteacher, Depute Headteacher, and acting Headteacher before securing a permanent Headship in 2006. Throughout her career, she has been focused on leading systemic cultural change in schools and fostering a collective vision to improve outcomes for the communities served. In 2014, she was seconded to lead Fife’s Pedagogy Team, aiming to enhance pedagogical capacity in schools serving disadvantaged communities, and the team's efforts were recognized nationally with the GTCS Excellence in Professional Learning Award. Rosemary's current research, undertaken for her EdD at the University of Strathclyde, explores the influence of headship programs on newly-appointed headteachers in Scotland, with a focus on identity and community practices. She is dedicated to providing quality professional learning opportunities for educators and has been actively involved in programs that support leadership development within Scottish education.
