Ruri Takizawa is a lecturer and researcher in the Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology at ETH Zurich. She studied psychology as a DAAD scholar at Bielefeld University in Germany and University College London in the UK, and received her PhD in social psychology from the University of Geneva in Switzerland in 2024. Her research examines people's appraisals of uncertainty and how these appraisals shape responses to societal challenges. Specifically, she studies how uncertainty appraisal influences attitudes and behaviors that drive social transformation in organizational and political contexts. Her goal is to enable individuals to effectively regulate their uncertainty while supporting leaders and organizations in providing necessary resources. Current research projects include applying her perspective to issues of gender equality, helping women and men navigate shifting social and organizational environments. In addition to her research, she teaches at the Master’s and PhD levels on topics related to organizational behavior, such as leadership, team dynamics, diversity, and quantitative research methods. She also regularly gives invited talks and facilitates discussions about gender and ethnic–racial bias in the workplace, including strategies for managing uncertainty.
