Biography

Russell Poldrack is the Albert Ray Lang Professor of Psychology with a courtesy appointment in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He completed his PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has spent four years as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford. Prior to joining Stanford in 2014, he held faculty positions at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, UCLA, and the University of Texas. His research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, particularly decision making, executive control, learning, and memory. He is dedicated to developing neuroinformatics tools and resources that facilitate data interpretation in neuroscience. Poldrack has received numerous honors, including the International KFJ Award and being named a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy. Additionally, he has been deeply involved in academic committee work, including serving on the Board of Scientific Counselors for the National Institute of Mental Health and chairing various committees for the Organization for Human Brain Mapping.
