Biography

Sabrina Mazzali-Lurati teaches writing courses in the Bachelor's degree in Communication and the Master's degree in Economics and International Politics. She has been involved in academia for many years, having previously taught the course 'Elements of Rhetoric and Written Communication' since 2009, and served as an assistant lecturer for courses in 'Text Typology and Expressive Techniques' since 2005, as well as 'Semiotics' since 2001. She obtained her doctorate in Communication Sciences from the Università della Svizzera italiana in 2003, developing a thesis on a semiotic-hermeneutic approach to multimedia applications of 'classical' literary texts. Her research focuses on related areas including rhetoric, rhetorical strategies in communication—particularly in organizations—and semiotics from a multimodal and argumentative perspective, especially concerning advertising forms and promotional communication.
