Dr. Sara Berman

Biography

Sara Berman is a Professor of Lawyering Skills and the Director of the Academic Success Program at USC Gould School of Law. Before joining USC, she served as the founding director of the AccessLex Center for Legal Education Excellence, a national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. Berman has extensive experience in law schools in California, New York, and Florida, and has been an early adopter of distance learning in legal education, teaching fully online law courses for 15 years. Her publications and scholarship primarily focus on student success, bar exams, professional licensing, distance learning, and self-represented litigants. Berman holds a Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, emphasizing international relations, and French literature from UC Santa Barbara.
