Biography

Sara Marzagora joined King’s College London in January 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature. She holds a PhD in Cultural, Literary and Postcolonial Studies from SOAS University of London (2016) and previously worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford (2014-2016). Marzagora co-led the SOAS research project 'Multilingual Locals, Significant Geographies' from 2016 to 2019, which focused on world literature in multilingual societies, particularly in the Maghreb, South Asia, and the Horn of Africa. Her research interests span literary intellectual history, political thought, and Ethiopian texts, with a focus on world literature and its global intellectual histories. She has published in numerous journals including the Journal of African Cultural Studies and the Journal of World Literature. Marzagora is currently completing a manuscript on Ethiopian independence in the colonial world and co-editing a volume on national multilingualism in South Asia and the Horn of Africa.
