Biography

Sarah Vordenberg is a Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. Her research centers on engaging adults in the medication decision-making process, particularly regarding the deprescribing of medications for older adults and the selection of safe and effective over-the-counter medications. She has contributed to the field through her work published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, addressing issues such as polypharmacy and deprescribing nonprescription heartburn medications and pain medications for adults. In addition to her research, Dr. Vordenberg teaches several pharmacy practice courses, coordinating the Pharmacy Practice Skills course and the Self-Care course within the curriculum. Outside of teaching and research, she is actively involved in service, including coordinating the College of Pharmacy’s engagement in the University of Michigan Student Run Free Clinic and serving on the Advisory Board for the clinic. Dr. Vordenberg is a dedicated member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy where she has held various roles, including Treasurer and Secretary for Education Training PRN, and contributes to the MyDispense International Steering Committee.
