Dr. Sarath Mataraarachchi

Biography

Sarath Mataraarachchi is a lecturer at the University of New South Wales in the School of Built Environment within the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Colombo, a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from Queensland University of Technology, a Master of Sustainable Built Environment from the University of New South Wales, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture from the University of Queensland. His research focuses on sustainable infrastructure, urban resilience, and problem-based learning practices in the context of informal urbanism. He has been involved in various funding initiatives aimed at developing sustainable infrastructure, poverty reduction, and capacity building in Pacific island countries and urban communities in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
