Biography

Sarosh Kuruvilla is a visiting Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics. He holds the Andrew J. Nathanson Family Professorship in Industrial Relations, Asian Studies, and Public Affairs at Cornell University. Kuruvilla received his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 1989. Over a career spanning 25 years, he has published extensively in leading academic journals, including the Industrial Labor Relations Review and Human Relations. He has also authored books and technical reports related to his field. Prior to pursuing his PhD, he worked as a labor relations manager in the industry in India. Kuruvilla holds a Master's degree in Industrial Relations from XLRI Xavier Institute of Management and a Bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Madras, India. He currently serves as the Academic Director for the New Conversations Project, which aims to establish sustainable labor standards in global supply chains. His research interests include comparative industrial relations and the connections between labor relations policies and national human resource policies, with a recent focus on policy approaches to enhance national skills development across countries in Asia.
