Sasha Kenjeeva is a PhD candidate lecturer at Tilburg University, specializing in the intersection of computational linguistics and psycholinguistics. Her research focuses on using computational, behavioral, and electrophysiological methods to investigate language meaning representations. Sasha is particularly interested in exploring how language and multimodality interact to represent word meanings in context. Currently, her PhD project, supervised by Dr. Alishahi, Dr. Cassani, and Dr. Venhuizen, involves a series of experiments aimed at testing word representations in multimodal contexts. She trained to conduct interdisciplinary research at the crossroads of cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and computational linguistics. In a recent project with Dr. Crepaldi from SISSA, Italy, she examined the effects of semantic diversity on word processing using distributional models of semantics and big datasets in Python and R. Alongside her research, Sasha teaches courses such as Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence in the Bachelor's program and is responsible for practical sessions in statistics for the Premaster's DSS program. She also supervises Bachelor’s theses and enjoys playing the violin, art, and engaging in meaningful conversations with others.
