Dr. Sheena Vachhani

Biography

Professor Sheena Vachhani is an expert in Work and Organization Studies, focusing on ethics, gender differences, politics, embodiment, feminism, alternative organizations, and precarious work. Her work explores social inequalities and the ethico-political questions that arise from engagements in various research contexts. She is currently a Co-director of the Action Research Critical Inquiry Organisations group, which emphasizes participatory modes of research and capacity-building. Vachhani's research projects span various themes, including the relationship between affect and language, feminist methodologies, and the politics of vulnerability and solidarity. She has collaborated with Bristol Medical School on trauma-informed healthcare and community-based approaches to health inequalities. Her significant engagement with feminist perspectives informs her work in organization studies, and she has contributed to several academic journals. Vachhani is also an associate editor for Gender, Work and Organization and serves on multiple editorial boards. She welcomes inquiries from doctoral researchers interested in her research themes.
