Dr. Sheri Mycue

Biography

Sheri Mycue is an Associate Director for Compliance in Education at the University of Texas at Austin, with over 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher both overseas and in the United States. She serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, where she coordinates a preservice teacher education program for grades EC-6 with ESL certification. Dr. Mycue teaches undergraduate methods courses and coordinates field placement experiences for UT's elementary preservice teachers, focusing on preparing new teachers to engage and motivate learners within inclusive and diverse classrooms. She holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a minor in Counseling from the University of New Orleans, and a master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction from National-Louis University, which was a field-based program in Heidelberg, Germany. Her previous experience in higher education includes teaching undergraduate courses in early childhood education, curriculum, and multicultural studies, as well as coordinating and supervising student teachers in K-12 settings. Dr. Mycue's work emphasizes the critical coordination of placements for teachers in field experiences, particularly in the context of ESL education.
