Silun Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His research interests encompass nonlinear control, large-scale complex systems, incentive-driven algorithms, and risk-averse/safe reinforcement learning. He completed his Ph.D. in Optimization and Systems Theory at KTH in 2019, where he worked under the supervision of Xiaoming Hu and Johan Karlsson. Prior to his current position, he was a Postdoctoral Associate Fellow at the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, where he contributed to the development of the MicroMasters Program in Statistics and Data Science. His research includes the development of control optimization algorithms to manage large systems efficiently, utilizing geometric structures in high-dimensional data, and addressing collective behavior in multi-agent systems. Zhang has published extensively in his field and continues to seek motivated Ph.D. students and postdocs to join his research team.
