Dr. Simon De Jong

Biography

Simon B. de Jong is a Full Professor of Organization Studies at Maastricht University, specializing in the fields of teamwork, organizational design, effective leadership, and performance management. His research encompasses the impact of top management teams, proactive employee behavior, the effects of human resource management practices, and the integration of artificial intelligence in organizations. He has published various scientific articles, book chapters, and practical papers in renowned journals and has presented his work at notable international conferences in the fields of human resource management and organizational behavior. Prior to joining Maastricht University, Simon held key positions at prestigious institutions across Europe, such as the University of Groningen, University of St. Gallen, EADA Business School, and the University of East Anglia. His managerial roles have included Managing Director of Executive Development and Vice-Department Chair. Simon has designed and taught a variety of courses on strategic human resource management, people analytics, and leadership, among others. He has also supervised numerous PhD candidates and has extensive consultancy experience in human capital and HR strategy.
