Biography

Sinead Katherine Kado is a full-time PhD student at the University of Western Australia with over 25 years of experience transitioning from a clinical role in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to educational research. She has spent 20 years in Fiji, where she engaged in problem-based learning for medical students as a pre-clinical coordinator. Sinead holds a graduate certificate in medical education, and her passion for faculty development led her to create workshops in collaboration with Australian academics. She has been awarded the Australian Awards scholarship to pursue a Masters in Health Professions Education, where her research focuses on developing educators in low-resourced countries. Sinead is a qualitative researcher advocating for evidence-based improvements in health professions education. Currently, she teaches various programs at UWA and coordinates the Assessment unit within the Masters of Health Professions Education. Sinead's ongoing research is centered around leadership in health professions education, aimed at enhancing faculty development. In addition to her academic role, she is also involved with the Reference Group of the Health Professions Education Research Centre at Fiji National University, contributing significantly to educational research and development in the region.
