Dr. Sophie Kartochian

Biography

Sophie Landrieux Kartochian is a lecturer in French at the School of Modern Languages at Georgia Tech. She is passionate about language advocacy and multidisciplinarity, specializing in teaching Languages for Specific Purposes, including French Business and French Professional Communication. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a dual degree in Economics and Business from Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. Before joining Georgia Tech, Sophie held academic positions as an Assistant Professor in Business Administration at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and as a French Lecturer in International Business at Georgia State University. She has also worked in continuing education at the Atlanta International School. Her areas of expertise include French Business, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behavior, alongside completed research projects focusing on women in management and career development. Currently, she emphasizes her work on Intercultural Management related to French Specific Purposes. Sophie has co-written handbooks on Management and Human Resource Management and has published several articles in academic journals. An enthusiastic educator, she has received numerous teaching awards, including the Student Recognition Excellence in Teaching honors.
