Dr. Sophie Roher

Biography

Sophie Roher is an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on circumpolar health, with a strong emphasis on cultural safety and health services. She is engaged in capacity building initiatives and collaborative research partnerships that aim to enhance northern health policy. Her work highlights the importance of health equity and food security, particularly in remote and Indigenous communities. Sophie also dedicates efforts toward knowledge mobilization to ensure that research findings effectively reach and benefit the communities involved. She actively seeks to improve health outcomes by integrating local knowledge into health policy and practice.
