Biography

Stephanie Shakay Tierney is a PhD Candidate in Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on research themes such as Scottish witchcraft trials, memory politics, memorialisation, motives, identity, activist anthropology, gender, storytelling, and arts-informed methods. She has been involved in this program since 2021 and works under the supervision of Dr. Maya Mayblin and Dr. John Harries. Tierney holds a BA in Communications, Public Relations, and Mediation from the University of Colorado Denver, where her research interests included communications diversity and feminist methods in communication and public relations.
