Biography

Steven Franconeri is a Professor of Psychology at Northwestern University's Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and the Director of the Cognitive Science Program. He holds courtesy professorships in the Kellogg School of Management and the McCormick School of Engineering. His areas of focus include cognitive science, visual thinking, data visualization, business visualization, information design, and STEM education. He completed his undergraduate training in computer science and cognitive science at Rutgers University and earned a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Harvard University, supported by the National Defense Science and Engineering Fellowship. He also held a Walter Isaac Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of British Columbia.
