Dr. Steven Most

Biography

Steven Most is a Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Brandeis University and his Ph.D. in Psychology from Harvard University. His research focuses on the intersection of cognitive psychology and its links to social psychology, clinical psychology, and neuroscience. His laboratory investigates the ways in which attention and emotion shape conscious experience, specifically exploring topics such as inattentional blindness, emotion-induced blindness, emotion regulation, and curiosity. Steven has received multiple awards for his teaching and mentoring, reflecting his passion for fostering a public understanding of psychological science and its real-world implications. In 2021, he co-authored a textbook titled 'Cognition' published by Oxford University Press, which received the Promising New Textbook Award from the Textbook and Academic Authors Association.
