Biography

Sumaya Nsair is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut, awarded in 2017. She further advanced her studies at the University of Calgary, completing her Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2020 and her PhD in the same field. Her research focuses on various critical areas including fairness in research, travel demand management, transport network modeling, and demand analysis. Sumaya is also committed to enhancing diversity in engineering education and entrepreneurship, as well as sustainability in engineering design. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she is involved in innovative pedagogical approaches to improve engineering education.
