Dr. Sumi Cho

Biography

Sumi Cho is a Lecturer at Columbia Law School, where she teaches courses on Critical Race Theory, Race, Racism & U.S. Law, and Employment Discrimination. With over 25 years of experience in legal education, she has a rich background from DePaul University College of Law. Her research interests focus on affirmative action, employment discrimination, educational discrimination, and intersectionality. In addition to her teaching, she serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the African American Policy Forum, addressing significant issues related to anti-racism and the representation crises in a multiracial democracy. Professor Cho holds a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. Her prestigious experience includes serving as a distinguished visiting scholar at Bayreuth University in Germany and as a visiting professor at both the University of Michigan and the University of Iowa law schools.
